Polymarket affiliate program - earn a share of trading fees from referred traders

Polymarket Affiliate Program

Who You'd Be Promoting: Polymarket

An affiliate program is only as good as the product behind it. This one sits on the largest prediction market in the world - and one of the best-funded companies in crypto.

What Polymarket is

2020
Founded by Shayne Coplan
$3B+
Traded on the 2024 US election
1:1
pUSD backed by USDC

The world's largest prediction market. Every market is a YES/NO question about a real event, shares trade between $0.01 and $1.00, and the price doubles as the crowd's probability estimate. Correct shares redeem for $1 each.

No bookmaker on the other side - you trade against other people in an open order book and can sell out early, which is why newsrooms quote these odds instead of polls. Thousands of markets run at any moment: elections, crypto, macro, sports, AI and culture.

How it works step by step, who resolves a market and what happens in a dispute - all in our guide.

How the Program Works

There is no application form and no affiliate network in the middle. Everything runs inside your own Polymarket account.

01

Open an account

Sign up with an email or a crypto wallet at polymarket.com and fund it. Trading settles in pUSD, backed 1:1 by USDC.

02

Cross $10,000 in volume

Rewards only start accruing once your account has at least $10,000 in lifetime trading volume. You may share links before that - they simply don't pay yet.

03

Share your link

Use the share button on any market page or on your profile - it carries your referral tracking. The person has to sign up within 30 days of the click for it to count.

04

Get paid daily

Rewards accrue in real time as your referrals trade and are paid once a day at 00:00 UTC in pUSD, straight to your balance - trade with it or withdraw it.

The Terms, In Full

Straight from Polymarket's Help Center, including the conditions that rarely make it into affiliate blog posts.

ConditionWhat it means for you
Direct referral share 10% of net fees
Indirect referral share 5% of net fees
What "net" means The fee amount Polymarket keeps after the referred trader's own tier rebate. A heavy trader on a high tier gets more of their fees back, which shrinks your base.
Eligibility $10,000 lifetime volume on your own account
Attribution window The new user must sign up within 30 days of clicking your link.
How long you earn per user The first 30 days after they sign up, or until they hit the Platinum tier - whichever comes first. Within that window you earn through every tier up to and including Gold.
Cap on referrals or earnings None
Payout schedule Once a day at 00:00 UTC
Payout currency pUSD, credited to your Polymarket balance
Tracking & campaigns Automatic - the referred user never types a code. Your referral dashboard shows earnings, sign-ups and active traders, and lets you run multiple named campaigns to see which channel converts.
Disqualification Self-referrals, linked accounts, inauthentic trading
Two conditions worth reading twice. First, the $10,000 lifetime volume requirement - this is not a program you can join with an empty account. Second, the 30-day / Platinum limit: you are paid on a referral's first month, not for life, so the program rewards a steady flow of new sign-ups rather than one whale you found once. Polymarket can also disqualify referrals and claw back rewards for self-referrals or linked accounts, so a second account of your own is a way to lose the balance, not to grow it.

Where Your Commission Comes From

You earn a share of trading fees - so it pays to know exactly who is charged, how much, and on which markets.

Only takers pay

On Polymarket, makers - traders who place resting limit orders - are never charged. Fees apply only to takers, the ones who hit an existing order. So a referral who patiently posts limit orders generates no fees, and therefore no commission for you.

The fee itself follows a formula: fee = shares × rate × price × (1 − price). It peaks at 50¢ and shrinks toward the extremes, and it is symmetric - a trade at 30¢ costs the same as one at 70¢. Fees are charged at match time, not on deposits, withdrawals or winnings.

In practice: at a price near 50¢ a 100-share trade costs up to $1.00-$1.75 depending on the category. That is the pot your 10% is cut from.

Fee rates by category

CategoryRateMax per 100 shares
Crypto0.07$1.75
Sports0.05$1.25
Economics, Culture, Weather, Other0.05$1.25
Politics, Finance, Tech, Mentions0.04$1.00
Geopolitics0$0 - fee-free

Crypto markets are the most lucrative to refer into and geopolitics markets pay you nothing at all - they are free to trade by design. If your audience only follows war and diplomacy markets, this program is not the one for you.

Why Trader Tiers Change Your Payout

Polymarket gives active takers part of their fees back. Those rebates come out of the same pot your commission is calculated from - and Platinum ends your referral rewards entirely.

Tier30-day weighted volumeFee rebateOne-time bonusYour referral reward
Bronze$2,000+3%$10Paid
Silver$20,000+8%$50Paid
Gold$200,000+18%$250Paid
Platinum$1,000,000+32%$1,500Stops here
Diamond$4,000,000+44%$7,500
Obsidian$10,000,000+50%$25,000

Weighted volume is not raw dollars: crypto counts ×2.3, economics, culture, weather and other ×1.7, politics, finance, tech and mentions ×1.3, sports ×1.0, and geopolitics earns none. Rebates are paid daily in pUSD once at least $1 has accrued. The practical takeaway for an affiliate: a mid-sized active trader is a better referral than a whale, because a whale climbs to Platinum quickly - and at Platinum your rewards from that user stop.

What It Looks Like In Numbers

A worked example using Polymarket's published fee formula. An illustration of the mechanics - not a promise of income.

One active referral, first month

Referral takes politics trades near 50¢20,000 shares
Notional traded (≈ shares × 50¢)$10,000
Fees paid: 20,000 × 0.04 × 0.5 × 0.5$200
Their tier rebate (Silver, 8%)− $16
Net fees Polymarket keeps$184
Your 10% share≈ $18

Same trader in crypto markets (rate 0.07) would generate around $350 in fees and roughly $32 for you. Trades away from 50¢ cost less, so real numbers land below these maximums.

Reading that honestly

The program pays on volume, not sign-ups. Ten curious people who deposit $50 and stop are worth less than one trader who is genuinely active for a month. And because rewards run for that first month only, income here is a function of how consistently you bring new people in.

It suits anyone who already talks about markets to an audience - a channel, a newsletter, a community, a site like this one. It does not suit someone hoping to post a link once and collect passive income for years: the 30-day window makes that impossible by design.

One more practical note: your referrals need something to trade on. Sending people to a market they can actually reason about converts far better than a bare link - which is why we pair ours with AI predictions and a feed of new markets.

Affiliate Program FAQ

What is the Polymarket affiliate program?

It is Polymarket's referral program - officially named the Referral Program, usually described as an affiliate program. You share a link, and when the people who sign up through it trade, you receive a share of the trading fees they generate. There is no separate application and no affiliate network in the middle: it runs inside your Polymarket account.

How much do you earn from the Polymarket referral program?

You earn 10% of the net fees generated by users you refer directly, and 5% of the net fees from indirect referrals - the people your referrals bring in. "Net" means what Polymarket keeps after the referred trader's own tier rebate, so the base is smaller than the gross fee they paid.

Do I have to trade myself to earn referral rewards?

Yes. Your own account must reach at least $10,000 in lifetime trading volume before rewards start accruing. You can share your link before that, but nothing is paid until the threshold is met - this is the requirement most affiliate write-ups leave out.

How do I get my Polymarket referral link?

Use the share button on any market page or on your profile page - the link it produces carries your referral tracking. A new user has to sign up within 30 days of clicking it for the referral to count, and they never need to type a code manually.

When and how are referral rewards paid?

Rewards are calculated in real time as your referrals trade and paid out once a day at midnight UTC in pUSD, directly to your Polymarket balance. From there you can trade with them or withdraw.

What is pUSD?

pUSD (Polymarket USD) is the collateral token used to settle trading on Polymarket - an ERC-20 token on Polygon backed 1:1 by USDC, with the backing enforced on-chain by the contract rather than by a market peg. Referral rewards and tier rebates are both paid in it.

How long do I keep earning from one referred user?

For the first 30 days after they sign up, or until they reach the Platinum tier - whichever comes first. Within that window you earn through every tier up to and including Gold. After that, the same user stops generating referral rewards for you.

Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?

No. There is no cap on the number of users you can refer or on the amount you can earn. The limits sit on each individual referral - the 30-day window and the Platinum cut-off - not on your account.

Can I run several referral campaigns at once?

Yes. Your referral dashboard lets you create multiple campaigns, each with its own code and name, so you can see which channel or audience drives the most sign-ups and earnings. It also shows total earnings, sign-ups and active traders over different periods.

Which markets earn me the most?

Fees vary by category, and your commission scales with them. Crypto carries the highest taker rate at 0.07 (up to $1.75 per 100 shares); sports, economics, culture, weather and other are 0.05 (up to $1.25); politics, finance, tech and mentions are 0.04 (up to $1.00). Geopolitics markets are fee-free, so referrals who trade only those generate nothing for you.

Can Polymarket take referral rewards back?

Yes. Polymarket reserves the right to disqualify referrals and to withhold or claw back rewards for violations such as self-referrals, linked accounts or inauthentic trading. Referring yourself through a second account is not a loophole - it is a way to lose the balance.

Is the Polymarket affiliate program available in my country?

The program itself has no separate country list - it follows access to Polymarket. Availability of the platform and of specific markets varies by jurisdiction, and the US operates through a separately regulated venue. Check what is available where you are before building an audience around it.
